Sometimes I Float In Between

I only know the light because I’ve lived through the dark.
My body, buried in the heavy, damp soil.
Ready to decompose with the earth.
Destined for more,
My soul wouldn’t rest.

Though suffocated by the soil,
Spirit clawed its way through the dirt that tried to encapsulate it,
simultaneously being kept alive by way of the earth’s minerals and nutrients.

My soul has eyes,
My soul has passion.
It lifted me out from the depths.
It used the very dark that tried to keep me oppressed, and
Transmuted the energy to light.

I know life, I know death, and sometimes I float in between.
